The 100MW / 331MWh battery storage system is now operational
As the first European project equipped with Sungrow’s advanced PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled technology, Bramley BESS is among the UK’s longest-duration and most versatile energy storage assets.
The system will play a critical role in balancing variable electricity demand and intermittent supply, enabling the integration of additional renewable energy into the grid. Bramley’s capacity is sufficient to meet the average daily electricity needs of 44,000 UK homes, helping reduce emissions, costs, and energy prices while enhancing system resilience.
The latest generation of PowerTitan is no exception. PowerTitan 2.0 representa una fusión perfecta de tecnologías de vanguardia en electrónica de potencia, electroquímica y soporte de red, lo que lo convierte en un actor formidable en el mercado del almacenamiento de energía a escala comercial. Con una impresionante capacidad de celdas de batería de 314 Ah, alberga un sistema de conversión de energía (PCS) dentro de un contenedor compacto. Este innovador diseño aumenta significativamente la densidad de potencia, permitiendo que un contenedor de 6 metros albergue baterías de 5 MWh y un PCS de 2,5 MW.
Rentabilidad y Apoyo a la Red
Entre las características más destacadas de la nueva PowerTitan se encuentran su mayor rentabilidad y su compatibilidad con la red. Al integrar los módulos de baterías y el PCS de cadena en un único contenedor, consigue una capacidad de energía descargada superior en más de un 7% a lo largo de su vida útil. Con una eficiencia de ida y vuelta (RTE) mejorada del 89,5%, el sistema simplifica la conversión de energía entre DC y AC y mejora la eficiencia global del sistema.
Gestión térmica refrigerada por Líquido
Una característica destacada de este sistema es su sistema de gestión térmica refrigerado por líquido, que garantiza una disipación uniforme del calor. Además, su tecnología de inteligencia artificial (IA), que adapta los métodos de disipación del calor en función de la temperatura de la batería y del entorno, reduce el consumo diario de energía en un 40%.
Tecnología Stem Cell Grid
PowerTitan 2.0 incorpora Stem Cell Grid Tech para reforzar la estabilidad de la red y la calidad de la energía. Ofrece funciones avanzadas, como el paso de alta y baja tensión, la protección contra oscilaciones de banda ancha y el restablecimiento rápido de la energía en caso de fluctuaciones de tensión.
Seguridad ante Todo
Células supervisadas por inteligencia artificial y seguridad multicapa es primordial con el PowerTitan, que cuenta con células supervisadas por inteligencia artificial para una seguridad en tiempo real y cuatro capas de protección contra riesgos eléctricos. El diseño compartimentado del sistema mejora aún más la seguridad.
Integración Total
Con parámetros preinstalados y un diseño modular que reduce el tiempo de puesta en servicio in situ, se garantiza que el proyecto pueda conectarse a la red eléctrica con el mínimo esfuerzo y, por tanto, entrar rápidamente en la zona de beneficios. El sistema también está diseñado para resistir las inclemencias del medio ambiente, con una clasificación anticorrosión C5 y protección IP55, y es capaz de funcionar a altitudes de hasta 4.500 metros con una potencia nominal del 100%.

The PowerTitan 2.0 represents a seamless fusion of cutting-edge technologies in power electronics, electrochemistry, and grid support, positioning it as a formidable player in the utility-scale energy storage market. With an impressive battery cell capacity of 314Ah, it accommodates a Power Conversion System (PCS) within a compact container. This innovative design significantly enhances power density, allowing a 20-ft container to house 5MWh batteries and a 2.5MW PCS.
Cost Efficiency and Grid Support
Notable features of the new PowerTitan include heightened cost-efficiency and grid support. By integrating battery modules and the string PCS within a single container, it achieves more than 7% higher discharged energy capacity over its lifetime. With an improved round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 89.5%, the system simplifies energy conversion between DC and AC power and improves overall system efficiency.
Liquid Cooled Thermal Management
An outstanding characteristic of this system is its liquid-cooled thermal management system, ensuring even heat dissipation. This not only results in a remarkable 20-year system performance life but also enhances charging and discharging efficiency
In addition, its artificial intelligence (AI) technology adapting heat dissipation methods based on battery and environmental temperatures reduces daily energy consumption by 40%.
Stem Cell Grid Tech
The PowerTitan 2.0 incorporates Stem Cell Grid Tech to bolster grid stability and power quality. It offers advanced capabilities such as high and low voltage ride-through, broadband oscillation protection, and rapid power restoration during voltage fluctuations.
Safety First
AI-Monitored Cells and Multi-Layer Protection Safety is paramount with the PowerTitan, featuring AI-monitored cells for real-time safety and four layers of protection against electrical hazards. The system's compartmentalised design further enhances safety.
Seamless Integration
With pre-installed parameters and a modular design that reduces on-site commissioning time, it is ensured that the project can be connected to the power grid with minimal effort and therefore quickly get into the profit zone. The system is also designed for environmental resilience, boasting a C5 anti-corrosion rating and IP55 protection, capable of functioning at altitudes up to 4,500 meters with 100% nominal power.
