The 100MW / 331MWh battery storage system is now operational
As the first European project equipped with Sungrow’s advanced PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled technology, Bramley BESS is among the UK’s longest-duration and most versatile energy storage assets.
The system will play a critical role in balancing variable electricity demand and intermittent supply, enabling the integration of additional renewable energy into the grid. Bramley’s capacity is sufficient to meet the average daily electricity needs of 44,000 UK homes, helping reduce emissions, costs, and energy prices while enhancing system resilience.
The latest generation of PowerTitan is no exception. PowerTitan 2.0, güç elektroniği, elektrokimya ve şebeke desteği alanındaki son teknolojilerin sorunsuz bir birleşimini temsil ederek, onu büyük ölçekli enerji depolama pazarında etkili bir oyuncu konumuna getiriyor. 314Ah etkileyici pil hücresi kapasitesi ile, kompakt bir konteyner içinde bir Güç Dönüşüm Sistemi (PCS) barındırıyor. Maliyet Etkinliği ve Şebeke Desteği
Yeni PowerTitan'ın dikkat çeken özellikleri arasında artan maliyet etkinliği ve şebeke desteği bulunmaktadır. Pil modüllerini ve dizi Güç Dönüşüm Sistemi'ni (PCS) tek bir konteyner içinde entegre ederek, ömrü boyunca %7'den fazla yüksek deşarj enerji kapasitesine ulaşmaktadır. İyileştirilmiş bir geri-dönüş verimliliği (RTE) %89.5 olan sistem, DC ve AC güç arasındaki enerji dönüşümünü basitleştirir ve genel sistem verimliliğini artırır.
Sıvı Soğutmalı Isı Yönetimi
Bu sistemdeki önemli özelliklerden biri, homojen ısı dağılımını sağlayan sıvı soğutmalı termal yönetim sistemidir. Bu, yalnızca 20 yıllık bir sistem performans ömrüne yol açmakla kalmaz, aynı zamanda şarj ve deşarj verimliliğini de arttırır. Ayrıca, yapay zeka (AI) teknolojisi, batarya ve çevresel sıcaklıklara dayalı olarak ısı dağılım yöntemlerini adapte ederek günlük enerji tüketimini %40 azaltır.
Stem Hücre Şebeke Teknolojisi
PowerTitan 2.0, şebeke stabilitesini ve güç kalitesini güçlendirmek için Stem Hücre Şebeke Teknolojisi'ni içerir. Yüksek ve düşük voltaj dayanıklılığı, geniş bant salınımlara karşı koruma ve voltaj dalgalanmaları sırasında hızlı güç onarımı gibi gelişmiş yetenekler sunmaktadır.
Önce Güvenlik
PowerTitan'da güvenlik önceliklidir ve gerçek zamanlı güvenlik için yapay zeka tarafından izlenen hücreler ile elektrik tehlikelerine karşı dört katmanlı koruma sağlanmaktadır. Bölümlere ayrılmış tasarımı sayesinde sistem güvenliği daha da artmaktadır.
Sorunsuz Entegrasyon
Önceden kurulmuş parametreler ve saha devreye alma süresini azaltan modüler bir tasarımla, projenin minimum çaba ile enerji şebekesine bağlanması ve dolayısıyla hızla kara geçişi sağlanmaktadır. Sistem aynı zamanda çevresel dayanıklılık için tasarlanmış olup, C5 anti-korozyon derecesi ve IP55 korumasıyla övünmektedir; bu, deniz kenarı gibi zorlu koşullarda dahi %100 nominal güçte çalışabilme kapasitesine sahip demektir ve 4.500 metreye kadar yükseklikte çalışabilir.
Innovative Design
The PowerTitan 2.0 represents a seamless fusion of cutting-edge technologies in power electronics, electrochemistry, and grid support, positioning it as a formidable player in the utility-scale energy storage market. With an impressive battery cell capacity of 314Ah, it accommodates a Power Conversion System (PCS) within a compact container. This innovative design significantly enhances power density, allowing a 20-ft container to house 5MWh batteries and a 2.5MW PCS.
Cost Efficiency and Grid Support
Notable features of the new PowerTitan include heightened cost-efficiency and grid support. By integrating battery modules and the string PCS within a single container, it achieves more than 7% higher discharged energy capacity over its lifetime. With an improved round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 89.5%, the system simplifies energy conversion between DC and AC power and improves overall system efficiency.
Liquid Cooled Thermal Management
An outstanding characteristic of this system is its liquid-cooled thermal management system, ensuring even heat dissipation. This not only results in a remarkable 20-year system performance life but also enhances charging and discharging efficiency
In addition, its artificial intelligence (AI) technology adapting heat dissipation methods based on battery and environmental temperatures reduces daily energy consumption by 40%.
Stem Cell Grid Tech
The PowerTitan 2.0 incorporates Stem Cell Grid Tech to bolster grid stability and power quality. It offers advanced capabilities such as high and low voltage ride-through, broadband oscillation protection, and rapid power restoration during voltage fluctuations.
Safety First
AI-Monitored Cells and Multi-Layer Protection Safety is paramount with the PowerTitan, featuring AI-monitored cells for real-time safety and four layers of protection against electrical hazards. The system's compartmentalised design further enhances safety.
Seamless Integration
With pre-installed parameters and a modular design that reduces on-site commissioning time, it is ensured that the project can be connected to the power grid with minimal effort and therefore quickly get into the profit zone. The system is also designed for environmental resilience, boasting a C5 anti-corrosion rating and IP55 protection, capable of functioning at altitudes up to 4,500 meters with 100% nominal power.
